As you step into the teenage world, you want to do more things on your own. There is a transition from being a “cutesy” to being more of grown-up and lady like. Having too much stuff is one of the frequent errors that adolescents make when redecorating their room. Putting just a couple of items will give emphasis to the whole space which would turn out to look good, but if you crowd it up then it would look overpowering. A lot of flower patterns, too much bright colors and cartoon patterns may be too frilly. Remember that you can do girly without looking too babyish. If you happen to collect items, you don’t need to put the whole lot away. You can pick just a few of your favourites and store the rest and you can still bring them out anytime you want. In this stage you are trying to build your own identity so your room should be a reflection of your personality. Growing up can start in your own room because that is your space.
